Every two years, the world’s largest B2B hospitality trade show takes place in Milan, Italy. This year, HostMilano 2023 was held at the Fiera Milano exhibition and trade center from October 13th – 17th, with thousands of people attending from over 50 countries.
HostMilano is a global event open to brands and companies across the food and beverage sector, including coffee and tea, bars and restaurants, bakeries and patisseries, vending machines and food service equipment. Over 2,000 companies exhibited, showcasing the latest innovations in technology and product development in the HoReCa, food and beverage industries. In addition, HostMilano 2023 was host to several coffee competitions and awards ceremonies.
As part of the specialty coffee industry, attending this event has been a dream. This year, our dream came true.
Our Master Espresso Machine Repair Technician, Mike Gomez, was invited by Eversys to attend an exclusive Tech Masterclass training for their Legacy machine. This super traditional espresso machine is compact, designed to help businesses with little space and still be able to offer a great coffee experience for their customers. Mike was very honored to be the only American in the Masterclass he attended. Already having experience installing and repairing the Eversys Legacy, he was able to master the training quickly.
In addition to training, the CSS team was able to visit several of the leading espresso machine manufacturing partners that we sell and support. We also got our eyes on the newest innovations from Thermoplan, and the upcoming Franke Mytico and Latte Art Factory’s Bar Pro, both of whom were 2023 Smart Label Host Innovation Award winners.
In honor of Host, Accademia del Caffe Espresso in Florence, Italy, opened its doors to the coffee community for an exclusive program of activities and experience. The CSS team was invited by La Marzocco to visit their museum and educational space. What an incredible experience to see where and how espresso coffee machine innovation was imagined and created.
Ultimately, this trip provided insight into new espresso tech innovations which we plan to share our new learnings with customers. And if all goes as planned, we hope to attend HostMilano again in 2025.
